Art shows galore!

YEAH BUDDY!!!!

So I've been out and about trying to go and support my artist friends. I've come across some amazing pieces of work. I'm just honored and extremely happy to see all of this great art come from Chicago.

First show I went to my friend Ghetto P's art show. He is a part of the X-Men Crew of Chicago.

Then I recently went to see my friend and fellow Escapism artist Alex Puryear's art show with All Eyes On Art.

There were some beautiful lovely ladies that lent their bodies to be painted by these talented artists. To be honest I did not see nudity here. All I saw was some really great talent.

As this year is coming to a close, in all seriousness I am looking forward to seeing what 2012 has in store for me. But for now, I can't wait to see what else 2011 has left :)

Auggie Love...

Auggie on the left Archie (my friend Sean's Argus, on the right).
In case you haven't met Auggie from a previous post, he's my Argus C3 Rangefinder. I actually got some of my friends searching out their own Argus cameras so they can appreciate all that they have to offer. I've been busy with art shows and everything as of late and I kind of neglected him. So, I decided to take him out for a bit and take some photos. Of course he did not disappoint :)

My view from the base of the John Hancock building.

In preparation for the newest Escapism Art Show, Dia de los Muertos, Vince and I went to Rosehill Cemetery to take in the scenery and do a little head stone hunting. We didn't locate any famous graves, but I did get a chance to capture some amazing photos. Here's a sneak peek of what I plan on exhibiting. Enjoy!

Bah de dah.. Say do you remember? Bah de dah..Dancing in September? Bah de dah..Never was a cloudy day!!!

Gotta love vanity mirror photo ops :)

September came and went by so fast!!! So many amazing photo opportunities to be had! And of course, I took advantage of them all :)

First up, is Ali and Kevin's wedding...

Kevin and Ali. 09.10.11

The wedding took place in Toledo, OH at Ali's grandparents' backyard. The guests were allowed to wear Converse chucks or cowboy boots. Guess what I chose????
Mel and I showing off our cowboy boots :)

Ali worked really hard making crane origami by hand. Her efforts definitely did not go to waste...

Beautiful decorations!
Melinda felt compelled to take a photo of the cranes. I felt compelled to take on of her :)
All in all, it was one of the most beautiful and wonderful wedding that I got a chance to attend. I was so happy to be invited to witness it.

Ali you're so beautiful!!!!

Next up, my friend Alex Puryear's art exhibit with All Eyes On Art ....

Me and Alex :)
I'm so proud of you, Alex!!!

The next great photo op for me was going to a Chicago Cubs game one last time before the season ended.

Go Cubbies!!!!
A very good friend of mine was selling Bleachers seats at a Cubs game for a fundraiser. The day was simply amazing. A perfect day for a baseball game. I started off the day over at Murphy's Bar, literally right across the street from the Bleachers entrance to Wrigley Field. The rest is history :)

It was a great game! I got to spend time with great friends, eat good food, and the Cubs won! What more can I ask for to end an amazing month? Oh yeah! This.....

Check out the piggy toes!!!!
Jonah and Whitney had the baby!!!! Welcome little Sawyer Samir Lindzius! I'm sorry that Auntie Roanne went all paparazzi on you. Don't worry, you'll get used to it :)

Album release, art show, and photo shoot ....OH MY!!!!

Yeah, riiiiiiight ;)

August was a whirlwind of artistic and musical whimsy and babyness all combined. In the beginning of the month, my photog friend and musical genius, Jonah, aka Kollage, had an album release party.

His album, They've Landed, was an eargasm of beats and sound. It was an honor and privilege to take photos for him this night. As the people enjoyed the beats and got to play around with Vince's camera, he also had the japanimation movie, Akira in the background.

Later on in the month, Escapism's monthly art show at Maya Essence burst into the seams....

Kym Thomas - She's AMAZING!!!

...and some new artists join in the fun also!!!!!!

Mark Harvey
It's great to know that there are people out there that are willing to share their work with everyone. I definitely enjoyed this art exhibit.....then again I love all of them ;)

A couple days after the art show, Vince's best friend, Jonah (not to be confused with DJ Kollage) and his girlfriend Whitney had a baby shower at the gallery. Beforehand they had an impromptu photo shoot.

After some goofing around and taking some of the silliest photos....

...Vince did capture some really touching images and definitely put some things into perspective. There's a baby coming and we can't wait!!!

So August came and went with many happy thoughts and photographic opportunities. I can't wait to see what September brings :) It will definitely bring a new baby to our fold of friends.....
